November 13, 2010,
Chris Schoenfelder and Liz Thatcher came in from Louisville to teach us
even more blues!
Chris and Liz are a highly
respected couple in the traveling swing dancing world, on and off the dance
floor. On the floor they've individually won/placed in many regional Jack
'n Jill and Any Swing Goes competitions. As a team, they've competed as
part of the "Hoosier Hot Shots" which won 1st place at Dayton Smackdown,
1st at Hawkeye's Swing Festival, and 2nd at Swing, IN.
Off the floor, they have
winning personalities. The ever polite and friendly couple has an exceptional
way of breaking down difficult dance moves and explaining them in easy
to understand pieces. |
July 10, 2010, Swing Dance
America hosted its first blues dancing workshop, "Red, White, and Blues:
Blues Dancing Fundamentals", taught by regional instructors Jamie-Lynn
Figure and Ross Blythe!
Drawing from a diverse dance
background (Swing, Ballroom, Argentine tango, etc) this couple has a style
all their own. They taought us the fundamentals of blues dancing, as well
as how blues can be combined with lindy hop. We cannot say enough great
things about them, and hope to have them back again. |
