WHEN ARE
THE DANCES?
We have a dance once a month.
Previously we scheduled them for every second Saturday, but we have since
changed some of the dates in order to provide more opportunities for dancing
aroung town for everyone! Please check the calendar for upcoming
changes as they occur. Be sure to be on the mailing
list for reminders!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST
and WHAT DO YOU GET?
Just 5 Bucks $5.00 (which
all goes to the studio for use of their beautiful dance floor). Beginners
are welcome There is a "pre-dance" lesson for beginners from 8 pm to 8:45
pm (no extra charge), then open dancing from 9:00 - Midnight on the finest
dance floor... in the most beautiful dance studio... in all of Kentucky
(i.e. Kentucky DanceSport). Refreshments included and often, when we get
lucky, there is a 5 to 10 minute dance exhibition by professional dancers!
Oh! and did we mention that Kentucky Dance Sport has a state of the art
surround sound, piping hot, music system?
WHERE ARE THE DANCES AND
HOW DO WE GET THERE?
Kentucky Dance Sport has
a new location in Brannon Crossing shopping center (off Nicholasville,
Rd, near Fayette Mall) that is bigger and better! Address: 241
E. Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY (click
for a map!)
Directions: From New
Circle Rd in Lexington, Take the Nicholasville Rd exit (exit 19) outbound
toward Nicholasville. Go about 2.5 miles and turn left on Brannon Rd. Take
the first left onto Cynthia st, then immediate right turn. The Kentucky
Dance Sport studio will be on the left. (It is across from the Hobby
Lobby, in the same building as the Goodwill store).
Occasionally we meet at an
alternate location, so be SURE to join our mailing list to get the updates.
DO I NEED A PARTNER? AND
WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW HOW?
No you don't need a partner
and you don't need to know how to dance. We will teach you!
The swing dance community is one of the friendliest dance scenes in the
world. Swing dancers are there to dance and to share their moves. Alcohol
is not served. The dances are smoke free and there is very little of the
old pick-up-scene thing going on. Dress casual, or dress up - people
do both. Generally, and overwhelmingly, swing dancers are just there to
dance have fun, stay fit and enjoy the day! Come join us and see
for yourself! Beginners are always welcomed and encouraged.
